Paragons of Originality aspire to raid at a high level. To achieve and maintain this level requires dedicated individuals that are willing to put forth the effort required to learn and execute the strategies required to down each boss and mob in a given instance.

All raid members are expected to have read the strategies provided in the Raid area of the member forum prior to attending a raid. It is understandable that raid members may not completely understand what they are required to do in every given situation. But, all members should be working on a better understanding and effort each time they attend a raid.

Raid Preparation:

• Be there on time! - Invitations generally begin 1/2 hour prior to the posted raid start time. Do not wait until the last minute to begin traveling to the instance entrance. Being ready and waiting outside the zone-in increases your chances of getting a spot in the raid.
• Be active! - Each raid member has role to play; make sure you know yours.
• Be repaired & prepared! - Collect all of the flasks, bandages and other items you need before the raid.
• Have the required add-ins installed and configured! – Deadly Boss Mods.
• Install and configure Ventrilo (ask if you need help configuring). Having a mic is not required - listening to instruction is...
• Know the raid strategies! - Do NOT show up clueless.
• Pay attention! - High end raiding is fast paced and demands your full attention. Don't be chatting in guild chat while raiding. Similarly, Ventrilo is often necessary for critical communications; especially during boss fights do not speak unless it is essential to do so.

Raid Attendance:

We understand that most people have busy real lives and cannot reasonably be expected to attend every raid. However, we do expect people to show up as frequently as possible to aid the guild in progression. While we do not currently require strict attendance benchmarks, if you are a particularly inactive raider (without just cause) then it is possible there will be repercussions such as a demotion to friend rank.

Attendance will be tracked and may be a factor in things such as who receives invites for raids and/or who is awarded loot.

Raid Target:

In general, the raid target will be established in advance and announced on the forums or through the guild message of the day. We hope to always attack the specified target, but it is possible elements will conspire against us and cause us to change targets on short notice.

Invitations:

Invitations will be extended starting 30 minutes prior to the announced raid time. Invitations will be given to those online at the discretion of the officers; decisions may be based upon a variety of factors which possibly will include gear, experience, prior attendance, and raid balance needs. Naturally, being present, ready, and showing interest in the raid (asking "when are invites!?" is not a good way to show interest) are also likely to increase your chance of being invited. The goal is for the raid to succeed. If you happen to be the 15th melee dps online, its possible you may not make it into the initial raid.

Member rank is used to help determine raid composition. The order for preference is Members > Recruits > Friends. Officers will be treated as members unless they are required for Master Looter or other roles.

Loot & Bidding Rules:

Paragons of Originality currently uses a free roll system for Karazan with a few rules.

Each member will be allowed to roll on 2 epics and 1 set item per run. Always need before greed and Main before Alt. If it is a side grade or an off spec item please be courteous of others and allow them to take the upgrade, I if it is to be DE’ed and can be used by someone we would rather it be put to use rather then a shard in the bank. Please don’t turn our generosity on this into an opportunity for you to start a collection of gear for your bags, we will put a stop to your looting if we do not feel it will be put to use. If you are asked to bring your alt in order to complete the run due to class balance then your alt will get the same consideration as a main. However the Officer on the run always has the final say, if you are bringing an alt to a raid of any kind please make sure that you are prepared to do the job that is asked of you.

25 Man runs may be some variation of DKP with perks to help out the players who can not make it as often as they would like. We are working on a system that rewards the players who are attending the raid without penalizing the ones who can not make it.

Other Instance Runs:

For any non-DKP instance run loot is handled as the group deems desirable.

Hint: The bank always appreciates DE’d components if you find yourself awash in useless drops. However, do not donate unless you have at least enough money to prepare for and repair your own gear during the next DKP raid! Go sell the crap instead.

Members are encouraged to run Heroics on nights when they are not raiding as these zones allow small groups to hone their skills while earning badges or other loot (including gems) which can be used to upgrade gear.
